The house resides within a beautiful part of the island overlooking crofts to Loch Bracadale on the west of Skye. The MacLeod’s Tables and islands are laid out before you in a variety of views from the house. Choose to sit and observe the weather and changing light inside or slide back the door and enter the landscape in a few steps.
V&A Dundee Scottish Design Collection
The Hen House was the first ever recepient of the Saltire Medal 2010 awarded by Architect John McAslan. It was also awarded a Saltire in the Private Dwelling New Build Category 2010. John McAslan said the Hen House “stood out for its innovative use of materials and design which took account of its surroundings and setting”.
The Hen House is part of the permanent Scottish design collection at the V&A Dundee.
